BraeBen GC, Mississauga, Ontario, Sept. 13, 2018

The last Hickory Hackers scramble event of the 2018 season was played at BraeBen Golf Course in Mississauga on Thursday September 13th.
The weather was beautiful, fine and windy, slightly cool. The course played well and afforded beautiful views out over the city from its high elevation.
Attendance was good, including a substantial contingent from Eastern Ontario, and all had a good time.
No scheduled meal was included, since the start was staggered rather than a shotgun, but players enjoyed food and refreshment in the clubhouse after play, and several members set up trade tables offering an interesting selection of golf implements and memorabilia.
I have not been able to obtain the full scores for the event.
The winning group was composed of George Supol, Ron Archer and Ron's guest Hendrick van der Geld, the General Manager and Executive Professional at Dundas Valley GC - they came in with an incredible score of 14 under par (see picture of their scorecard below - 12 birdies and an eagle).
Runner-up group was Russell Dick, Patti Coulter, Dave Blocksidge and Ken Leedham, with a score of -10. I believe there were a couple of groups at -9, but I'm afraid I don't have full details.
Unfortunately Frank Collis, who has done such sterling work taking photographs for us, was unable to attend. A number of those attending have assisted by supplying pictures that they took with their phones - thanks to Russell Dick, George Supol, Stan Lapidus and Nick Waterfield.
